Propel
Now is the time to propel our region by leveraging the investments in data and rail to build connectivity between us all.
One Region launched the concept of “Propel” at its 2021 annual luncheon where almost 550 elected officials, community partners, and business leaders gathered to hear from Senator Todd Young, Congressman Frank J. Mrvan, architect Gordon Gill and Cordell Carter, II from the Aspen Institute. At its core of the discussion was the Greater South Shore initiative to connect Chicago, Northwest Indiana, and South Bend and plant the seeds for an emerging tech hub in the heart of the Midwest. This initiative, led by Neighborhood Capital Institute and a steering committee of community leaders will create a hyper-connected corridor based on research and technology.
Propel is the strategic framework for One Region and the Opportunities Council to drive catalytic projects that create more connectivity in the Greater South Shore, leverage data and rail investments, and build an innovation ecosystem in our region. The core concept is to elevate opportunities with the greatest immediate and future results in order to build a stronger, more thriving region.
